Wheatfield supervisors elect Jeff Smith as chairman

PA WHEATFIELD — Wheatfield reorganizes with Jeff Smith as new chairman. The Board of Supervisors unanimously elected Jeff Smith as chairman and Phil Vogel as vice-chairman during an organizational meeting approving numerous staff appointments and salary adjustments. Rita Benner was reappointed as secretary and treasurer at $22 per hour.
The board raised part-time employee wages to $15 per hour for non-CDL positions and $18 per hour for CDL-certified roles, and increased mileage reimbursement from $0.70 to $0.725 per mile. The 2026 budget was reopened to increase highway maintenance, miscellaneous, and equipment-repair allocations totaling approximately $293,300.
